💡 Perfect if you're thinking...
The 100-day drawing challenge is one of the most effective ways for kids to develop a drawing habit. Spending just 6 minutes a day — consistently for 100 days — creates a visible skill progression that is genuinely motivating. Here is how to start and stick with it.
🖍️ What You Need
- A dedicated sketchbook (so all 100 drawings are in one place)
- Pencil and pen
- Any colouring tools you like
- A small timer or phone timer
How to Run the 100-Day Drawing Challenge
- Get a dedicated sketchbook — number pages 1–100 before you start. Seeing the blank pages ahead is motivating.
- Set a timer for 6 minutes — this keeps each session short enough to never skip but long enough to make something real.
- Pick a theme for each week — Week 1: animals. Week 2: food. Week 3: vehicles. Themes prevent blank-page paralysis.
- Draw ANYTHING in those 6 minutes — a quick sketch, a detailed study, a cartoon. The rule is: something on paper before the timer ends.
- Date every drawing — write the day number and date at the bottom of each page.
- No erasing, no starting over — commit to finishing what you start. Imperfect drawings are part of the process.
- On Day 100, compare Day 1 to Day 100 — the progression is the reward.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: The hardest days are 10-20, when the excitement wears off but the habit has not formed yet. Put your sketchbook somewhere you can see it (desk, beside your bed) so you never forget — out of sight really does mean out of mind.
