- HB pencil and rubber
- Black fineliner
- Colouring pencils — orange, red, green, brown
How to Draw Orange & Watermelon Lollies
- Two upright shapes — draw two tall rounded-rectangles next to each other, leaving space for sticks.
- Add the wooden sticks — short brown rectangles sticking out the bottom of each lolly.
- Orange top detail — a small curved line near the top of one lolly, suggesting an orange-peel curl.
- Watermelon rind — on the other lolly, a thick green stripe along the bottom edge.
- Seeds — sprinkle small black teardrops across the watermelon section.
- Texture lines — a few thin curved lines on the orange lolly for juiciness.
- Frost effect — small wavy lines on the sides to suggest the lollies are very cold.
- Colour boldly — bright orange, bold pink-red, dark green, and tan-brown sticks.

Should the colours be flat or shaded?
Both work — flat colours look cartoony, soft shading on one side looks more realistic. Try both styles.
Why do the lollies need a wooden stick?
Without the stick they look like sweets, not lollies. The wooden stick is the visual cue.
Can I make one lolly bigger than the other?
Yes — slightly different sizes look more natural than two identical ones.
How long should the stick be?
About a third of the lolly's height. Too short and it looks stubby; too long and it dominates the drawing.
