How to Draw Rabbit , Drawing: Step-by-Step for Kids

Get your pencil ready! Follow these easy steps and you'll have an amazing Rabbit , Drawing drawing in no time.

What You'll Need

  • Pencil (HB or 2B)
  • Eraser
  • White drawing paper
  • Black marker (optional, for outlines)
  • Coloured pencils or crayons

Step-by-Step: Drawing a Rabbit , Drawing

Step 1: Draw the Head Circle

Draw a medium circle in the upper centre of your paper. This will be the rabbit's round, cute head.

Step 2: Add the Long Ears

From the top of the head circle, draw two tall, narrow oval shapes pointing upward. Make them about twice the height of the head. Add a thinner inner oval inside each ear.

Step 3: Draw the Body

Below the head, draw a larger oval — about twice the size of the head — slightly overlapping the bottom of the head circle. This is the rabbit's round body.

Step 4: Add the Face Details

On the head, draw two large round eyes with a small dot inside each. Below the eyes, draw a small Y-shape for the nose and mouth. Add three whisker lines on each side.

Step 5: Draw the Front Paws

At the bottom front of the body oval, draw two small rounded rectangular shapes side by side — the front paws. Add three small lines on each for the toes.

Step 6: Add the Hind Legs

On each side of the lower body, draw a larger rounded shape — almost like a kidney bean — for the hind legs. Rabbits have big back legs!

Step 7: Draw the Fluffy Tail

At the back of the body, draw a small, tight circle — the rabbit's cotton-ball tail. Add a few short curved lines around it to show fluffiness.

Step 8: Add Fur Texture

Use short, light pencil strokes around the edges of the body, head, and ears to suggest soft fur. Don't fill everything — just a hint at the outline.

Colouring Your Rabbit , Drawing

Rabbits can be white, grey, brown, or even black! Use light brown with a white belly for a classic look. The inside of the ears should be pink.

Tips from Parikshet

  • Make the ears the same height — tilt your paper and squint to check if they match!
  • Add a tiny highlight dot in each eye to make the rabbit look bright and alive.
  • Practice makes perfect — try drawing it again tomorrow!
