How to Draw a Pikachu Sketch Step by Step
- Draw the head and body — Pikachu's head and body are almost one rounded shape. Draw a large rounded form, slightly pear-shaped, wider at the bottom.
- Add the ears — two long, pointed ears rising from the top of the head. Each ear has a black tip at the end.
- Draw the face — two round black eyes with white highlight dots, a tiny nose, and a wide open smile. Pikachu's face is cheerful and simple.
- Add the red cheeks — two red circles on the cheeks, where Pikachu stores its electricity. These are essential — they are Pikachu's signature feature.
- Draw the arms and legs — short, small arms and stubby legs. Pikachu has a compact, rounded body.
- Draw the lightning-bolt tail — the famous zigzag lightning-shaped tail, wider at the tip. Add a brown patch at the base where it meets the body.
- Add the back stripes — two short brown stripes across the upper back.
- Colour — bright yellow body, red cheeks, black ear tips and eyes, brown tail base and stripes.
🌟 Did You Know?
Pikachu's name combines two Japanese words: 'pika', the sound of an electric spark, and 'chu', the sound a mouse makes. Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon and the official mascot of the entire Pokémon franchise. It was not originally meant to be the star — that role was planned for Clefairy — but Pikachu's cute design made it so popular it became the face of Pokémon worldwide.
Pikachu's Signature Features
