A bunny is one of the most loved animals to draw because of its big eyes, long ears and fluffy tail. In this full step-by-step tutorial Parikshet shows you how to draw a sitting bunny from front view, with all the details that make it look soft and cute.

🎨 What You Need

  • White A4 paper
  • HB pencil and rubber
  • Black fineliner or marker
  • Pink, light grey or brown colour pencils
  • Optional: white gel pen for fur highlights

How to Draw a Bunny Step by Step

  1. Step 1 — Draw a medium circle for the head and a larger oval below it for the body, slightly overlapping.
  2. Step 2 — On top of the head, draw two long oval ears standing tall, with the tip of one ear flopping slightly for character.
  3. Step 3 — Inside each ear, draw a thinner inner oval — this is where the pink will go.
  4. Step 4 — On the face, add two large round eyes with a tiny white sparkle in each, a small triangle nose, and a W-shaped mouth.
  5. Step 5 — Add three whisker lines on each cheek and two small front teeth peeking out below the mouth.
  6. Step 6 — Draw two small front paws at the bottom of the body, joined in the middle so they look folded.
  7. Step 7 — Add a bumpy fluffy tail behind the body, and a back foot peeking out from one side.
  8. Step 8 — Outline everything with a black marker, colour the inside of the ears and nose pink, and shade the body lightly in grey or warm brown.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: Add a tiny white dot in the dark part of each eye — that single highlight is what makes the bunny look alive and friendly instead of staring.

🌟 Did You Know?

Bunnies grind their teeth softly when they are happy and relaxed — a bit like a cat purring. Their front teeth never stop growing throughout their whole life.
