King Boo is the boss ghost from Super Mario — a large, creepy-cute white ghost with a crown and a devious expression. His round shape makes him easier to draw than he looks, and the crown adds a regal detail that kids love to get right.

🖍️ What You Need

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Black pen for outlines
  • Purple marker (for the crown gem)
  • Gold/yellow for the crown
  • Light grey for shading

How to Draw King Boo Step by Step

  1. Draw the main body — a very large, slightly irregular circle. King Boo is bigger than a normal Boo.
  2. Add the wavy bottom — the base of his body has 3-4 wavy bumps, like a ghost's trailing edge.
  3. Draw the crown — a classic crown shape sitting on top of his head. Three points with a large gem in the centre.
  4. Add the eyes — large, round, hollow eyes (just outlines, white inside) with tiny dark pupils.
  5. Draw the mouth — King Boo has a huge, menacing open mouth. Show jagged teeth on top and bottom, with a dark interior.
  6. Add the tongue — a wide flat tongue rolling out of the mouth.
  7. Shade — light grey shading on one side of the body. Leave the other side white to suggest he is glowing.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: King Boo's expression is the key difference from regular Boo. Regular Boo is shy (covering eyes). King Boo is menacing — give him angled, sharp eyebrows over his large round eyes to convey that boss energy.
