Shinchan is one of the most beloved anime characters across Asia — his chubby face, beady eyes, tiny nose, and mischievous grin are endlessly fun to draw. Parikshet's easy guide captures his iconic look in just a few simple shapes.
🖍️ What You Need
- Pencil and eraser
- Black pen for outlines
- Yellow for the shirt
- Blue for the shorts
How to Draw Shinchan Step by Step
- Draw the head — a large, nearly circular oval. Shinchan's head is very round and large relative to his body.
- Add the hair — a thick black fringe across the top of the forehead. Five or six thick hair spikes pointing forward.
- Draw the face — two tiny black dot eyes near the centre of the face (very close together and small), a tiny triangle nose, and a wide open grin showing small square teeth.
- Add the ears — small round ears on each side.
- Draw the body — short and chubby, about two-thirds the height of the head. Shinchan has very stubby proportions.
- Add the yellow shirt — a simple short-sleeved shirt with a small collar.
- Draw the blue shorts — very short shorts at the waist.
- Add the arms and legs — short, chubby limbs with no visible knuckle detail on the hands.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: Shinchan's eyes are the most important feature to get right — they are very small, very close together, and quite low on the face. Most beginners draw them too large or too high. Go smaller and lower than feels natural.
