  • A4 white paper
  • HB pencil
  • Ruler
  • Black fine-liner
  • Blue, orange, red and brown colouring pencils

How to Draw a Folding Surprise Snowman

  1. Fold your paper into three equal horizontal sections and reopen it.
  2. In the top section, draw the snowman's head — a round circle with two eyes made of coal, a carrot nose and a smile of small dots.
  3. In the middle section, draw the snowman's body as a larger circle. Add buttons down the centre.
  4. Close the paper so only the top and bottom panels show. Now open the middle flap — this is the surprise reveal.
  5. On the inside of the flap, draw something fun — a smaller snowman friend, a hot chocolate mug or a 'Merry Christmas!' message.
  6. Add details outside — a scarf around the neck, twig arms and a top hat on the head.
  7. Outline everything with fine-liner and erase pencil lines.
  8. Colour the snowman white with light blue shading, the scarf red, the carrot nose orange and the hat black or brown.
