How to Draw Black Panther: Step-by-Step for Kids

Black Panther is one of Marvel's coolest superheroes, with his sleek Vibranium suit and powerful feline mask. Let's draw Wakanda's king step by step!

What You'll Need

  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Paper
  • Black, silver, and purple markers

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Draw the Head Shape

Draw a smooth oval for Black Panther's head. His mask fits his face tightly, so the head shape is clean and angular — slightly wider at the temples.

Step 2: Draw the Panther Mask

Over the head, draw the Black Panther mask outline — it covers the entire face except for the eye openings. The mask has a smooth surface that follows the head shape closely.

Step 3: Add the Eye Slits

Draw two narrow, angular eye slits in the mask. They are slanted slightly downward toward the nose — fierce and feline, not round or friendly. Leave them as silver or white openings.

Step 4: Draw the Ears

At the top of the mask, add two pointed panther ears. They are not too large — just small, sharp triangular points that give the mask its cat-like silhouette.

Step 5: Draw the Neck and Suit Collar

Below the mask, draw a strong neck and the high collar of the Vibranium suit. The collar sits close to the neck and has a slight ridge along the top edge.

Step 6: Draw the Torso and Chest Symbol

Draw a broad, athletic torso in the Black Panther suit. On the chest, add the panther claw scratch symbol — three or four curved diagonal lines forming an abstract panther mark.

Step 7: Add the Suit Texture

Cover the suit surface with a subtle hexagonal or scale-like texture pattern. Draw small connecting lines across the chest, shoulders, and arms — this is the Vibranium weave that makes the suit special.

Step 8: Draw the Arms and Claws

Draw powerful arms at the sides in the suit. At the fingertips, add short, curved claws — Black Panther's suit generates retractable Vibranium claws.

Adding Colour

Fill the entire suit with black — but add subtle dark purple or silver highlights on the raised parts of the hexagonal texture to show the Vibranium shimmer. The eye slits glow silver or white. The claw symbol on the chest can be a slightly lighter shade of the suit.
