How to Draw a Cool Smart Emoji: Step-by-Step for Kids
The cool sunglasses emoji is one of everyone's favourites — here is how to draw your own supersized, super cool emoji face with shades!
What You'll Need
- Pencil
- Compass or round object to trace
- Eraser
- Paper
- Yellow, black, and white markers
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Draw the Emoji Circle
Draw a large circle — use a compass or trace around a bowl. This is the emoji face. Make it nice and big so you have room for all the details inside.
Step 2: Add the Smile
Near the bottom of the circle, draw a wide curved smile. The corners of the smile should nearly touch the sides of the face. Add a thick lower lip line below the smile.
Step 3: Draw the Sunglasses Frame
Across the middle of the face, draw two large oval or slightly rectangular lens shapes for the sunglasses. Connect them with a small bridge piece in the middle. Add two thin arm lines going to the sides of the face.
Step 4: Fill the Lenses Dark
Fill both sunglass lenses completely solid black. Leave a small curved white highlight in the top-left corner of each lens to show the glasses are shiny.
Step 5: Draw the Eyebrows
Just above each lens, draw a thick, slightly curved eyebrow. Angle them slightly downward in the middle for a confident, cool look — not angry, just smug and self-assured.
Step 6: Add Cheek Blush
Draw two small oval rosy circles on the cheeks, one on each side below the glasses. These soft blush marks make the emoji look cute and friendly.
Step 7: Detail the Smile
Inside the smile, draw a thick curved lower gum line and a row of white teeth above it. The teeth don't need to be individual — just a white curved band is fine.
Step 8: Add the Outer Glow
Draw a second circle just outside the main emoji circle with a slightly lighter outline. This suggests the emoji's glow effect on screen.
Adding Colour
Fill the whole face with bright yellow. The lenses are solid black with white highlights. The smile interior is white with a dark line for the lip. Cheeks are soft pink or orange-pink circles.
Tips from Parikshet
- The sunglasses should take up a large portion of the face — oversized shades look the coolest.
- The white highlight dots on the lenses are what make the glasses look shiny — don't skip them!
- Try changing the smile to a smirk (one side higher than the other) for maximum cool-emoji energy.
