🖍️ What You Need

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Red and pink markers
  • White for the eyes and shine
  • Black pen for the face

How to Draw a Happy Heart Step by Step

  1. Draw the heart shape — start with two rounded bumps at the top that meet in a dip in the middle, then curve down each side to a point at the bottom. A symmetrical heart.
  2. Add the eyes — two big, happy eyes in the upper area of the heart, with bright highlights.
  3. Add rosy cheeks — two small pink blush circles for a cheerful, sweet look.
  4. Draw the big smile — a wide, joyful smile below the eyes.
  5. Add little arms — two small arms reaching out from the sides, maybe waving or giving a thumbs-up.
  6. Add tiny legs (optional) — little legs at the bottom point so the heart can stand.
  7. Add a shine — a white highlight streak on the heart to make it look glossy and full of love.
  8. Colour — bright red or pink, with rosy cheeks and a white shine.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: The secret to a symmetrical heart is to draw one half, then mirror it — or fold your paper down the middle to check both sides match. Adding a big smile, rosy cheeks, and a bright shine turns a plain heart into a cheerful, lovable character full of joy.

🌟 Did You Know?

The heart shape we draw doesn't actually look much like a real human heart — the symbol has been used to mean love for hundreds of years, and no one knows for certain where it came from! Some think it was based on the leaves of plants, others on ancient symbols. Whatever its origin, the heart is now recognised all around the world as the symbol of love and kindness.

Drawing a Symmetrical Heart

  • Two bumps and a point — the classic heart shape
  • Mirror the two halves — so both sides match
  • Big smile and rosy cheeks — for a happy character
  • Shine streak — to make it glossy and full of love

🎯 Try This: Draw a Family of Heart Characters

  1. Draw a big happy heart and some smaller ones.
  2. Give each a different expression — happy, surprised, in love (with heart eyes!).
  3. Have them holding hands in a row.
  4. Add a 'Love' or 'Be Kind' message above them for a card.
