Luke Skywalker is one of the most beloved characters in cinema history. His simple Jedi outfit and lightsabre make him surprisingly approachable for young artists. Parikshet walks you through an easy version perfect for kids aged 7 and above.

🖍️ What You Need

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Black pen for outlines
  • Grey and beige markers or pencils (for the Jedi robes)
  • Blue or green marker for the lightsabre

How to Draw Luke Skywalker Step by Step

  1. Draw the head — an oval slightly narrowed at the chin. Add guidelines: a horizontal line for the eyes, a vertical centre line.
  2. Add Luke's face — eyes on the horizontal guideline, a simple nose, a slight smile. Add his classic side-parted hair.
  3. Draw the body — a rectangle for the torso in his Jedi tunic. Add a belt with a rectangular buckle.
  4. Draw the arms — one arm down at his side, one arm raised holding the lightsabre.
  5. Add the lightsabre — a cylindrical handle in his raised hand with a long glowing blade extending upward.
  6. Draw the legs — straight trousers tapering into boots.
  7. Add robe details — flowing lines suggesting the open Jedi robe over his tunic, and crosshatch texture on the boots.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: The lightsabre is the most fun part — draw the blade in blue for Luke's Episodes 4-6 look, or green for his Episode 6 saber. Add a glow effect by lightly colouring outward from the blade in white.
