How to Draw a Scorpion Step by Step

  1. Draw a flat oval near the middle of your page for the scorpion's main body (the cephalothorax).
  2. Add a slightly smaller rounded shape behind it for the abdomen, then draw three or four curved lines across it to make body segments.
  3. From the front of the body, draw two arms reaching forward and finish each one with a big claw shaped like a crab's pincer.
  4. Add the legs — four thin, bent legs on each side, so eight legs in total. Make them angle outward like little zig-zags.
  5. Now the best part: draw the tail. Start a curving line from the back of the body that loops up and over, made of five little bumpy segments.
  6. On the very tip of the tail, draw a sharp pointed stinger curving forward.
  7. Add two tiny dots near the front for eyes, then go over your best lines with a black pen and rub out the pencil marks.
  8. Colour it in — sandy brown, reddish-brown or even black for a deadly desert look.
