🧪 What You Need
- PVA glue (white or clear) — 100ml
- Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) — half a teaspoon
- Saline solution (contact lens solution containing boric acid or sodium borate) — 1-2 teaspoons
- Food colouring (optional)
- Glitter (optional)
- A bowl and spoon
How to Make Slime Step by Step
- Pour the glue into a bowl — 100ml of PVA glue. Clear glue makes see-through slime; white glue makes opaque slime.
- Add the colour and glitter — add a few drops of food colouring and a sprinkle of glitter if you like, and stir well.
- Add the baking soda — stir in half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda until completely mixed in.
- Add the saline solution slowly — pour in 1 teaspoon of saline solution and stir hard.
- Keep stirring — the mixture will start to thicken and pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- Add a bit more saline if needed — half a teaspoon at a time if it's still too sticky. Don't add too much or the slime will get tough.
- Take it out and knead it — once it's thick enough, take it out with your hands and knead it for a couple of minutes. It will go from sticky to perfectly stretchy.
- Play and store — stretch, squish, and explore your slime. Store it in an airtight container to keep it fresh for days.
