This fun Shorts video shows the right (and wrong) way to squeeze ketchup — and it inspired this drawing tutorial on how to draw a ketchup bottle, a squeezing hand, and the satisfying drizzle of sauce. A great drawing for food fans.

🖍️ What You Need

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Red marker for the ketchup
  • White and red for the bottle
  • Black pen for outlines

How to Draw a Ketchup Bottle and Squirt Step by Step

  1. Draw the bottle body — an upside-down teardrop shape for a classic ketchup bottle. Wide rounded bottom, narrowing toward the neck.
  2. Add the neck and cap — a narrow cylinder neck with a rounded dispensing cap at the top.
  3. Draw the label — a large oval or rectangle on the bottle body. Write 'KETCHUP' in bold letters.
  4. Add the bottle highlights — a thin white curved stripe on one side of the bottle to show the glossy plastic surface.
  5. Draw the squirting ketchup — from the cap, draw a curved stream of red ketchup arcing through the air. The stream narrows at the bottle end and widens as it falls.
  6. Add the splash — where the ketchup lands, draw a splat shape with small droplets spraying outward.
  7. Draw the squeezing hand — a simple fist shape gripping the bottle from the side.
  8. Colour — bright red ketchup, red-and-white bottle, skin tone for the hand.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: The ketchup stream looks most satisfying when it has a nice arc — start thin at the bottle tip, curve through the air, and widen as it splats. A perfectly straight drizzle looks less dynamic than a curved pour.
