Parikshet and his dad took on the Rubik's Race — a fast-paced puzzle game where two players race to match a scrambled pattern on their sliding tile boards. Here is how to draw the Rubik's Race board and the famous Rubik's Cube itself.

🖍️ What You Need

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Six bright colour markers: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white
  • Black pen for the grid outlines

How to Draw a Rubik's Cube Step by Step

  1. Draw the front face — a square divided into a 3x3 grid of 9 smaller squares.
  2. Add the top face — from the top edge of the front face, draw two diagonal lines going up and to the right. Connect them with a horizontal line to form the top face in perspective.
  3. Add the right face — from the right edge of the front face, draw two diagonal lines going to the right and down. Connect them.
  4. Divide each face into a 3x3 grid — add the grid lines on the top and right faces, following the perspective angle.
  5. Colour the squares — each face has 9 squares in various colours. A classic solved cube: front is red, top is yellow, right is blue.
  6. Add depth lines — make the edges between faces slightly thicker for a 3D look.
  7. Draw corner and edge pieces — the slightly rounded corners and the thin gaps between cubie pieces.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: The key to a convincing Rubik's Cube is keeping all the perspective lines perfectly parallel — all top-face lines go at the same angle, all right-face lines go at the same angle. Use a ruler for the guide lines.
