What You'll Need
- Pencil (HB or 2B)
- Eraser
- White paper
- Black marker
- Coloured pencils or crayons (orange, dark orange, black, white)
Step-by-Step: Drawing Rainbow Friends Orange
Step 1: Draw a Large Oval Head
Orange has a very large, wide oval head — wider than it is tall, almost like a fat horizontal egg shape. Draw this large oval near the top of your paper.
Step 2: Add One Giant Eye
Orange has one enormous eye in the centre-upper part of the oval head. Draw a very large circle for the eye — it should take up almost half the face area. Inside, add a smaller circle for the iris and a filled black circle for the pupil.
Step 3: Draw the Wide Mouth with Teeth
Below the eye, draw Orange's characteristic wide mouth. Make it very broad with a wavy bottom edge showing large, rounded teeth — Orange has big chomping teeth for eating. Draw about 6 large teeth along the top jaw.
Step 4: Add a Small Body Below
Orange's body is quite small compared to the giant head. Draw a short, rounded rectangular body below the head — much narrower than the head itself.
Step 5: Draw Small Arms
Add two small rounded arms on the sides of the body. Orange's arms are short and end in rounded lumps rather than fingers.
Step 6: Draw Short Legs
At the bottom of the body, draw two very short, stubby legs. Orange barely has legs — they're just small bumps at the bottom.
Step 7: Outline and Clean Up
Trace all lines with a bold black marker. The head outline and the eye should be the thickest lines. The teeth details should be clear. Erase pencil guidelines.
Colouring Your Rainbow Friends Orange
Colour the entire character in a bright, warm orange. The inside of the mouth is darker orange or brown. The eye has a white sclera, bright orange or yellow iris, and a black pupil. Shade the outer edges of the head slightly darker orange for roundness.
Parikshet's Tips
- Orange's head should be MUCH bigger than the body — exaggerate this for the true Rainbow Friends look.
- The single huge eye and wide tooth-filled mouth are Orange's defining features — spend extra time getting those right.
- Practice makes perfect!
