In this video, we are going to learn how to draw Scary Pennywise for kids. How to Draw Scary Pennywise — Easy Version: Step-by-Step for Kids

Grab your pencil and let's draw together with Parikshet — a simpler version of Pennywise the Clown, perfect for beginner artists!

What You'll Need

• Pencil (HB or 2B)
• Eraser
• White paper
• Black marker
• Coloured pencils or crayons (white, red, black, orange, yellow)

Step-by-Step: Easy Pennywise Drawing

Step 1: Start with a Circle Head

Draw a large, simple circle in the centre-top of your paper. This is Pennywise's white-painted face. Keep it smooth and round — we're going for simple here.

Step 2: Add Triangle Eyes

For this easy version, draw the eyes as two simple triangles — pointed at the top, flat at the bottom. One eye should angle slightly inward. Fill them in with yellow or orange, leaving a small black pupil in each.

Step 3: Draw the Wide Smile

Below the eyes, draw a very wide, curved smile that almost reaches both edges of the circle. Add a row of pointed teeth along the top of the smile. Fill the inside of the mouth black. Draw two short curved lines at each corner of the mouth going outward — the famous Pennywise red smile marks.

Step 4: Draw a Round Red Nose

Between the eyes and mouth, draw a large ball-shaped nose. Fill it with red. This is the most recognisable clown detail.

Step 5: Add the Frilly Collar

Below the head circle, draw a wavy, scalloped collar — like a row of connected U-shapes going all the way across the neck. Draw a second row of scallops below the first. This is the clown ruff.

Step 6: Add Orange Hair on the Sides

On the sides of the head, draw two tufts of wild, spiky hair — messy and pointing outward. Colour them bright orange. Clown hair is always exaggerated and wild.

Step 7: Draw a Simple Top Hat

On top of the head, add a tall rectangular hat with a wide brim sticking out on both sides. Add a simple horizontal band near the bottom of the hat crown.

Colouring Your Easy Pennywise

Face: white. Nose: red. Eyes: yellow-orange with black pupils. Mouth interior: black. Smile marks: red. Hair: bright orange. Hat: black with a red or orange band. Collar: white or silver-grey.

• Even in the easy version, make the smile as wide as possible — a small smile won't look like Pennywise.
• The bright orange hair against the white face is a key contrast — make the orange vivid.
