  • Colouring pencils — silver/grey, black, gold

How to Draw a Cartoon Microphone

  1. Draw the head — a large circle near the top of your page for the mesh ball of the mic.
  2. Add the cap — a small rectangle below the circle, like a collar between the head and the handle.
  3. Draw the handle — a long thin rectangle going downwards from the cap, slightly tapered at the bottom.
  4. Add the base — a small circle or button shape at the very bottom of the handle.
  5. Mesh texture — fill the circle head with a criss-cross diamond pattern to show the wire mesh.
  6. Highlights — add curved lines on one side of the head and handle for a metallic shine.
  7. Ink the outline — fineliner all over, then erase your pencil.
  8. Colour — silver-grey for metal parts, black for the handle, gold accents on the cap for stage-mic style.
