How to Draw a Husky: Step-by-Step for Kids
A husky has pointed ears, a white face mask, bright eyes and a thick curled tail. Those features make it instantly recognisable.
What You'll Need
- Pencil (HB or 2B)
- Eraser
- White drawing paper
- Black marker for the outline
- Grey, black and light-blue pencils
- Coloured pencils or crayons
Step-by-Step: Drawing a Husky
Step 1: Draw the head
Draw a rounded shape that is wider at the top and narrows toward the nose.
Step 2: Add tall ears
On top, draw two upright triangles with slightly rounded tips. Draw a smaller triangle inside each one.
Step 3: Draw the face mask
Draw a heart-shaped area in the middle of the face for the white mask. The darker fur will cover the forehead and sides.
Step 4: Add eyes and nose
Draw two almond-shaped eyes, one on each side of the mask. Draw a black nose at the end of the muzzle and a curved mouth below it.
Step 5: Draw the body
Draw a strong, slightly slanted oval for the chest and body, with a thick neck joining it to the head.
Step 6: Add legs and paws
Draw four sturdy legs ending in round paws. The front legs are straight and the back legs bend slightly.
Step 7: Draw the tail
Draw a big fluffy tail curling over the back. Add short zigzag lines along the edge to show thick fur.
Step 8: Outline and erase
Trace with a marker and erase the guide lines.
Colouring Your Husky
Use grey or black for the head and back, and white for the face mask, chest and legs. Many huskies have pale blue eyes, so colour one or both light blue.
Tips for Drawing a Husky
- Use short zigzag strokes at the edges. They look like fur.
- Keep the ears upright and pointed. Floppy ears would make it a different dog.
