Toast is one of those everyday objects that is surprisingly fun to draw with character and personality. Parikshet's version turns ordinary toast into a happy cartoon character — a great starter drawing for ages 4 and above.

🖍️ What You Need

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Golden-brown marker
  • Yellow for the butter
  • Black pen for the face

How to Draw Toast Step by Step

  1. Draw the toast shape — a square with gently rounded corners. Real bread slices aren't perfectly square — they're slightly wider at the top.
  2. Add the crust — a slightly darker rectangular border around the edge of the bread slice.
  3. Draw the toasted colour — the centre area is a different shade from the crust edges.
  4. Add a pat of butter — a small irregular blob shape in the centre, melting slightly at the edges.
  5. Draw a face — two oval eyes, a big smile, and rosy cheeks to turn your toast into a character.
  6. Add butter drips — small drips of melted butter running down the sides for extra charm.
  7. Optional: add toppings — jam (red), honey (golden drips), peanut butter (brown), or Nutella.
  8. Colour — golden brown for the toast, yellow for butter, bright colours for toppings.
💡 Parikshet's Tip: The face placement matters — put the eyes in the upper third of the toast and the smile in the lower third. This mimics a human face's proportions and makes the character feel natural.
