  • A4 white paper
  • HB pencil
  • Black fine-liner
  • Red, pink, yellow and green colouring pencils
  • Eraser

How to Draw a Tulip Step by Step

  1. Start with a small curved U-shape in the middle of your paper — this is the centre petal of the tulip.
  2. On either side of the U, draw two slightly taller petals that curve outwards at the top, like a small cup.
  3. Connect the bases of all three petals at the bottom into a rounded point.
  4. From the bottom of the flower, draw a long curving stem going down to the bottom of the page.
  5. Add one long pointed leaf on the left side and another on the right side of the stem.
  6. Draw fine vertical lines inside each petal to show the petal texture.
  7. Outline everything with your fine-liner and rub out the pencil marks.
  8. Colour the flower in red, pink or yellow — your choice. Colour the stem and leaves green, with a darker shade along the edges for depth.
