Drawing an easy panda starts with two simple circles, a big round body and a smaller round head, then you add black ear patches, eye patches and tiny paws. The whole panda takes about ten minutes and uses only black and white, which makes it one of the easiest animal drawings for beginners.
🎨 What You Need
- White drawing paper
- Pencil and rubber
- Black felt-tip pen or marker
- A small round object to trace the head, like a jar lid
- Optional: green pencil for bamboo
How to Draw an Easy Panda Step by Step
- Lightly draw a large oval for the panda body in the middle of your page.
- Add a smaller round circle on top for the head, slightly overlapping the body.
- Draw two small half-circle ears on top of the head.
- Add two large oval eye patches sitting at a slight tilt, like teardrops.
- Inside the patches, draw small white circles for the eyes with a tiny black dot in each.
- Draw a small upside-down triangle for the nose and a curved mouth underneath.
- Add four short stubby legs and two arms holding a stick of bamboo.
- Colour the ears, eye patches, arms and legs solid black, leaving the face and belly white.
🌟 Did You Know?
Giant pandas spend about 12 hours every day eating bamboo, and an adult panda munches through up to 38 kilograms of it in one day.
Panda Drawing Tips
- Keep the body wider than the head so it looks chubby
- The eye patches should be bigger than the actual eyes
- Leave plenty of white space so the black patches stand out
- Add a bamboo stem to give your panda something to hold
🎯 Try a Panda Family
- Draw a baby panda using smaller circles
- Place it next to your big panda
- Add green bamboo plants in the background
- Give them a tree branch to sit on
