How to Draw Kid Flash — Easy Cartoon Step-by-Step for Kids
Kid Flash is super fast — but drawing him doesn't have to be! Follow Parikshet's steps and you'll have your own speedster on paper.
What You'll Need
- Pencil (HB or 2B)
- Eraser
- White paper
- Black marker
- Red and yellow coloured pencils
Step-by-Step: Drawing Kid Flash
Step 1: Draw the Head
Draw a circle for Kid Flash's head. Make it slightly wider than tall. Leave space below for the body — Kid Flash is a teen hero, so he's not too tall.
Step 2: Sketch the Body in a Running Pose
Draw a slim oval for the torso, leaning slightly forward to show speed. Add a narrow waist. Keep the body shapes slender and athletic.
Step 3: Draw Running Legs
Draw one leg bent at the knee coming forward, and one leg stretching back behind. Add speed lines trailing behind both legs. The feet point forward like a sprinter's stride.
Step 4: Draw the Arms
One arm pumps forward bent at the elbow, the other sweeps back. Add speed lines trailing from the hands too. The whole body should look like it's cutting through the air.
Step 5: Draw the Flash Cowl and Wings
Kid Flash wears a full cowl covering the top of his head with two small lightning bolt ear wings sticking out just above the jaw line on each side.
Step 6: Add the Lightning Bolt Symbol
On the chest, draw a jagged yellow lightning bolt inside a white circle — the iconic Flash symbol. Make the bolt sharp and energetic with pointed tips.
Step 7: Add Speed Lines
Draw long curved lines sweeping back from Kid Flash's entire body — head, arms, legs, and feet. These speed lines are what make him look like he's moving at super speed.
Step 8: Outline and Colour
Outline everything in black marker. Colour the suit red, lightning bolt details yellow, and speed lines golden yellow. The mask is red with yellow around the eyes.
Colouring Tips
Kid Flash's classic suit is bright red with yellow accents. Use a warm yellow for the lightning bolt and ear wings. Speed lines look great in pale yellow fading to white.
Parikshet's Tips
- The leaning forward pose is what makes Kid Flash look fast — even wobbly lines work!
- Speed lines are the secret — add more of them for a more exciting drawing.
- Practice every day and you'll get better!
