Lay out everything before you start. Crafts go a lot smoother when you are not hunting for the glue with sticky hands. Watch the video once first, then pause at each step and copy along.

Take your time with the cutting. Slow scissors give clean edges, and clean edges make the final piece look ten times nicer. If a cut goes wrong, do not worry, you can usually trim around it.

Tips that make a difference

  • Use a glue stick for paper-on-paper and liquid glue only for small joints. Liquid glue can warp paper if you use too much.
  • Press each glued piece for a slow count to ten. It feels long, but the bond holds much better.
  • Let the project rest for a few minutes before moving it. New glue is weaker than dry glue.
  • Save your scraps. Most of them can become eyes, hair, or tiny details on the next craft.

Step-by-Step: Reaching Bedrock Safely

  2. Mine your staircase diagonally downward, checking your Y coordinate with F3. You start at Y=64 (sea level). Work towards Y=0 and then deeper.
  3. As you go deeper, the stone type changes: regular stone gives way to deepslate at around Y=0. Deepslate is much harder to mine and significantly slows your progress — keep spare pickaxes ready.
  4. At around Y=−58, pause to branch mine for diamonds — this is where they are most common. Collect your diamonds before going deeper.
  5. Continue downward until you see bedrock appearing — it looks like dark black irregular patches mixed into deepslate.
  6. You cannot mine bedrock with any normal tool. It is the floor of the playable world and is designed to be indestructible.
  7. Explore the bedrock layer — the space just above it is where you find the rarest ores including ancient debris (for Netherite) in certain world types.

Tips for Best Results

  • The deepest level is Y=−64. Below that is nothing — literally the void, and falling into it means certain death and losing everything.
  • Ancient debris — the material used to make the strongest armour in the game — is most common just above the bedrock layer.
  • Place a bed and chest at the bottom of your staircase so you have a convenient respawn point and storage area deep underground.
