Step-by-Step: Drawing Rainbow Friends Blue

Step 1: Draw the Tall Oval Body

Blue is a very tall, blobby monster. Start with a large oval shape — much taller than it is wide, like an egg standing upright. Make it take up most of the height of your paper. Blue's body and head are one connected shape.

Step 2: Add a Wider Bump at the Head

Near the top of the oval, make the sides bulge out slightly wider — this separates the head area from the body. Blue's head is slightly wider than the rest of the body.

Step 3: Draw the Single Large Eye

In the upper-centre of the head area, draw one large, single circle for Blue's eye. Inside the eye, draw a smaller circle for the iris, and an even smaller filled circle for the pupil. Blue has only ONE eye — this is an important detail!

Step 4: Add the Wide, Jagged Mouth

Below the eye, draw a very wide horizontal mouth. Make the top edge straight and the bottom edge jagged with large, pointed teeth. Blue has a menacing, wide grin with big sharp teeth — about 6 to 8 teeth visible.

Step 5: Draw the Short Stubby Arms
