Step-by-Step: Drawing a Cow With Number 4
Step 1: Draw the Body Rectangle
Draw a large rounded rectangle in the centre of your paper, with the long side horizontal. Round all four corners softly — this is the cow's big body.
Step 2: Add the Head
To the left of the body, draw a smaller square-ish shape with rounded corners for the head. Position it slightly lower than the top of the body.
Step 3: Draw the Muzzle
On the lower portion of the head, draw a large rounded oval — the cow's muzzle. Inside, draw two oval nostrils side by side.
Step 4: Add the Eyes and Ears
Near the top of the head, draw one large oval eye with a thick eyelash line above it. On each side of the head, draw a wide rounded ear — cows have large, floppy ears.
Step 5: Draw the Horns
Above the head, draw two short curved lines ending in a slight point — the horns. They curve outward and then slightly upward.
Step 6: Add the Legs
Below the body rectangle, draw four thick, short rectangle-shaped legs. The front two and back two should be slightly apart. Add a small oval hoof at the bottom of each leg.
Step 7: Draw the Udder and Tail
Under the belly near the back legs, draw a rounded udder shape with four small lines dangling down. At the back right of the body, draw a long thin tail with a tuft at the end.
Step 8: Add the Spots
Draw three to five irregular blob shapes on the body — these are the classic black-and-white cow spots. No two spots should be the same shape!
Colouring Your Cow With Number 4
Colour the body white, then add the spots in black or dark brown. The muzzle should be light pink. Hooves are grey-brown.
Tips from Parikshet
- Real cows' spots are random — don't try to make them too neat or symmetrical!
- Add grass lines at the hooves to show the cow is standing on a field.
- Practice makes perfect — try drawing it again tomorrow!
