How to Draw a Hot Dog Step by Step

  1. Draw the bun — a wide oval with a flat bottom. The bun is the outermost shape.
  2. Add the sausage — a slightly narrower, longer oval sitting inside the bun, with each end poking out slightly on both sides.
  3. Draw the bun cut — a horizontal line along the middle of the bun where it opens. Add a slight gap between the top and bottom halves of the bun.
  4. Add ketchup — a zigzag red line across the top of the sausage, from one side to the other.
  5. Draw mustard — a yellow zigzag line parallel to the ketchup.
  6. Add texture details — small curved lines on the bun surface to suggest soft bread texture. A slight curve at each end of the sausage.
  7. Colour — golden-tan bun, pink sausage, bright red ketchup, yellow mustard.
