How to Draw the Love Emoji — Easy Step-by-Step for Kids
The heart-eyes emoji is everyone's favourite! Let's draw this cute emoji full of love with Parikshet!
What You'll Need
- Pencil (HB or 2B)
- Eraser
- White paper
- Black marker
- Yellow, red, and pink coloured pencils
Step-by-Step: Drawing the Love Emoji
Step 1: Draw the Face Circle
Draw a large, perfectly round circle in the centre of your page — this is the emoji face. Make it big so you have plenty of room for the details inside.
Step 2: Draw the Heart Eyes
Inside the upper half of the circle, draw two large heart shapes side by side — one for each eye. Each heart should be big enough to take up most of the upper face area. The hearts point downward with their bumps at the top.
Step 3: Add Shine to the Hearts
Inside each heart eye, draw two small white oval shapes in the upper-left corner — these are shine spots that make the eyes look shiny and full of love. Don't colour over these spots!
Step 4: Draw the Smile
In the lower half of the circle, draw a big, wide curved smile going from cheek to cheek — almost as wide as the circle. Draw a curved line at the top to show the upper teeth row.
Step 5: Add Cheek Blush
On each side of the lower face, draw a small rounded oval — these are the pink blush marks on the cheeks. They sit between the outer edge of the smile and the circle edge.
Step 6: Add Floating Hearts
Draw one or two small floating hearts above the main circle — smaller than the eye hearts — for extra love vibes.
Step 7: Outline with Marker
Outline the circle, heart eyes, smile, and cheek blush circles in bold black marker. Leave the shine spots inside the hearts unoutlined.
Step 8: Colour the Emoji
Colour the face bright yellow. Colour the heart eyes vivid red. Leave shine spots white. Colour the cheek blushes pink. The teeth area inside the smile is white.
Colouring Tips
Use a vivid lemon yellow for the face — not orange-yellow. The red hearts should be as bright and saturated as possible to pop against the yellow face.
Parikshet's Tips
- Make the heart eyes as big as possible — they're the whole point of this emoji!
- The white shine spots inside the hearts make the biggest difference to how cute it looks.
- Practice every day and you'll get better!
