How to Draw a Cartoon Lion

  1. Draw a circle — about the size of a teacup base in the middle of the page; this is the face.
  2. Add the mane — draw a bigger wavy cloud-shape around the face, with about 10–12 bumps.
  3. Two ears — small rounded triangles peeking out from the top of the mane.
  4. Eyes — two large ovals in the upper half of the face, with shiny dot highlights.
  5. Nose — an upside-down triangle in the centre, then a curved line down to the mouth.
  6. Mouth — a wide smile that curves up at the corners, with a tiny tongue.
  7. Whiskers — three small lines on each cheek, plus a few dots for whisker roots.
  8. Colour — yellow for the face, orange-brown for the mane, pink tongue, black for nose and outlines.
